ALBICKER, VALERIE

Statement

The focus of my work revolves around place, making and found objects. Trained as a printmaker, my medium changes based on the project and accessibility of materials. My most current work is based in textiles, needlework, found imagery, memory and retelling of stories

In addition to working as the Director of the Visiting Artist/Scholar lecture series at the Department of Art + Art History at CU Boulder for 17 years, I studied at Munson Williams Proctor Institute School of the Arts, SUNY Albany and Russell Sage College. A residency at Watershed Center for the Ceramics Arts (Maine) allowed me to bridge collaborative intersection between mediums.
